Marlene Kirkhope may be on the verge of retiring after nearly 20 years working at Camilla House nursing home in Auchtertool, but the 59 year-old care worker who lives in the village will be leaving behind a lasting legacy.
Earlier this year a seven figure refurbishment and extension programme was completed at the home at the heart of the village and staff were invited to find new names for the two principal parts of the home.
"Marlene came up trumps with The Maltings and Moray, two names with long-term connections with Auchtertool itself," explained Camilla House manager Jackie Brown who presented Marlene with a bottle of wine to mark her winning contribution.
"We are delighted that the two areas of Camilla can now have their own distinctive titles and every time we refer to them we will also be able to think about Marlene who is set to retire in January next year."
